all abstinence, all the time

like always its been an interesting week. not interesting in the way were cool things happen and you're all excited and giddy, but interesting in the way were you realize funny things. like i can write a ten page paper in about 9 hours by basically writing in a trance and staying awake on pure will power. and all this time i thought i needed caffeine. silly me. what else? my dad never calls me with good news. and fire drills are stupid.

i'm also noticing that i dont have good weeks. like first year i used to have awesome weeks were everything went right. but now basically everyweek i'm like when can it get to friday so i can have a drink and forget this week ever happened. although in my defense while it may be 2pm on a friday when i have a drink, i only have one. and then i take a nap.

this semester is all about the naps.

* oh texas! how i miss thee.
* flies that decapitate ants. brilliant.
* best letter to the editor. ever.
* porn. it does more than kill kittens.

so the best letter to the editor letter is even funnier when youre hearing it in person. went to meet some relatives that just got back from india, this was like 3 days after the election or whatever, and we prayed cause thats what we do. so whilst the praying was going on my "uncle" i dunno he relation to me for real but we call him uncle started praising God for helping re-elect bush and it was funny cause everything he said was basically stated in that letter to the editor. and to think i just thought he was crazy...

actually this time texas has decided to teach Texas students (which have the second largest rate of teen pregancy/infection of STI's) that in order to not get infected they need to get 8 hours of sleep because "when your tired your more likely to make bad decisions."

yea.

i think they got their sex ed from the pope.

yeah i did my debate on the sex ed thing in texas and not only does texas have high sti rates, we got the largest number of unwanted pregnancies in the nation too. but unfortunately while i was doing the research texas isnt breaking any of their own laws. all the texas depts of education clearly state that they will only teach abstinence. in fact the law bout textbooks says that um the textbooks only need to partially cover was is necessary to know, and in texas thats abstinence. now you know. and knowing is half the battle...
