my friends are all closet republicans.

so lasu took this quiz and I've seen it around before but never just sat down and took it to see where i stood. Basically I'm about as far left as you can go. Although will say that there were many questions where you had to say whether you agreed or disagreed with something and I knew that the reality of the situation was much more complicated. but eh. people like easy answers. So take the quiz and see where you stand.

This here means me, H.H. Dalai Lama, Jes, and Nelson Mandela can kick it on a regular basis. So... yeah, they should let us know when their free. :-)

Hmph... i put myself before the Dalai Lama, and Mandela... hmmm... what is the actual meaning?! (and ignore the grammatical error of the names (beginning 'me' as opposed to ending 'I'-- but ignore it! Well... start ignoring dammidge!!!)

Actually, I am starting a band. A soul band. Covering everybody from Sam Cooke to Raheem DeVaughn (and of course Marvin Gaye). As well, my own works will be sprinkled more and more.

I know what you mean when you say the reality is much more complicated. A few summers back I had a weird experience with my best male friend. He had never done anything like this before but he suddenly decided he was in love with me. Not in the way he and I had loved each other as friends but he seemed to want something more. This is all the weirder because he was also best friends with my boyfriend. If that wasn't enough weirdness, his father owns the Westport restaurant where I was doing my summer job waitressing. Fortunately I realized this was more complicated than it might seem onthe surface and I just sort of rode it out with him over that summer. I didn't let it end our friendship but I also made sure he knew that I didn't want anything beyond a friendship. In the end, he worked through what was going on in his head and we remain really close. He even served as best man to my boyfriend, now husband, at our wedding.

Forgot to add that it turned out that he was really depressed that summer. People do weird things when they're depressed.
